Who I am

🙋🏽 Hi Everyone.  I'm Carolina Chobabovski — an autistic amateur writer and YouTuber from the South-East of England.  I use a pen-name because I'm constantly battling challenges to my mental health so I need peace and seclusion.  

 😴 As well as the Chobabovski ND Creativity Showcase, I've also set up a sister channel — Shen Taylor | Shavas & Sh'mores | Rest & Recovery.  It's based on a storyline from my audiobook — The Taylor Formation.  It's designed to  relax and encourage gentle exercise when life is too stressful for full workouts.  

Why I started writing

🖊️ I began writing in 2025 as a way to cope with trauma and autistic burnout.  Some of my work reflects and challenges that feeling of trauma — Diagnonsense; This Idle Seat; The Dawn Victorious.  

⚽ But so far, most of my time has gone into my fictional drama — The Taylor Formation — which is an exciting distraction from real life.  Check out all my videos and trailers here.

🚧 As of 2025, the Chobabovski YouTube channel, facebook page, and website, and are still very much a work in progress, so please forgive any hiccups. They're run by a very small team of neurodivergent volunteers, so when sending in your suggestions, please be patient and kind with us.

🏳️‍🌈 The Chobabovski channel aims to be welcoming to everyone regardless of their race, faith, sexual orientation, background, abilities, lifestyle, or official diagnosis status 🧩.   

🦻 Most videos have subtitles.  Plus all the scripts are available to read-along, or to download for free, to assist those with hearing difficulties🧏‍♂️.

🤑 To keep the showcase as independent and accessible as possible,  all services are provided for free.   💸 I don't accept paid promotions and don't monetise the channel's videos.

My creative process

😶‍🌫️ My autistic brain thinks and writes like a lawyer, so it's hard for me to translate my thoughts into a format that is accessible to all.  I've used AI — ChatGPT — to help me polish my writing in the same way an editor would.  

🗣️ Volunteers kindly record most of the spoken-word voiceovers.  I've used AI — Suno — to set some of my poems to music and to provide some vocals.  Each video is clearly labelled.   The rest of the creativity is most definitely my own, and the production has involved many hours of hard work.  

🎞️ I mainly use MicroSoft Clipchamp to edit videos.  When I need additional photos, I usually use Unsplash or I generate them with AI (Craiyon or Nightcafe).  All of these services provide the basics for free.

👿 Is AI a deal with the devil?  Yes.  It's widely felt AI unfairly uses and displaces people's work without permission.  This could lead to mass white-collar redundancies faster than individuals and economies can adapt.  

☢️ Also, AI is powerful but it inadvertently produces convincing misinformation.  Now the genie is out of the bottle, if you don't want to be side-lined, there's little choice but to use it — responsibly please.  

Why all my scripts are free to download

🎈 The Chobabovski channel is all about neurodiversity, inclusivity, creativity and — most of all — fun!  

🎭 That's why I've made the scripts of all my original work free to download and some are translated into French 🗼— so you can use them for learning or your own amateur dramatics.
